As an all-rounder creative and multimedia specialist, my graphic design experience spans digital communication, marketing, public awareness, event communication, print design and visual storytelling.

 

From the end of 2021 to 2024, while working at Maropeng Visitor Centre (in the Cradle of Humankind), I created social media content ranging from static graphic designs to motion graphics for marketing, tourism, educational and general communications purposes. My work also extended beyond social media to assisting with the design and development of the current website, designing the official printed brochure, creating exhibition flyers, developing monthly email signatures and producing presentation templates for internal communication.

 

From the end of 2024 through the first quarter of 2026, I worked as a multimedia strategist supporting the South African Department of Science, Technology and Innovation - DSTI (National Federal Government department) , where my graphic design work was primarily focused on digital communication and social media content for a national government department. This included designing communication and awareness materials for major national and international conferences and initiatives, including G20-related engagements, National Science Week, GovTech, BRICS, Science Forum, Transformation Summit, Green Hydrogen Summit, the National Global Change Conference, the UNESCO–IEEE STEM Bootcamp and many more as well as launches, award ceremonies, site visits and other high-level government engagements.

 

I developed event awareness campaigns, consecutive countdown posters, informative “Did You Know?” content and post-event visual communication, while managing the organisation and distribution of content across multiple digital platforms.

 

This work required close coordination and liaison with other government departments, public entities, industry organisations and external stakeholders, with communications often involving the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Blade Nzimande, Deputy Minister Dr Nomalungelo Gina, senior government officials, industry leaders and high-profile figures, including President Cyril Ramaphosa.

 

While my professional design work is often guided by specific communication, marketing and institutional objectives, I also make time to explore more conceptual and experimental design ideas outside of client and freelance work. These personal projects allow me to pursue greater creative freedom, experiment with visual styles and techniques, challenge my usual approach to design and continue developing my creative voice as a multidisciplinary visual communicator.
